Thoth Caduceus (トト・カドゥケウス Toto Kadukeusu) is the Egyptian God of Knowledge, Wisdom, Writing, Music, magic, and one of the main characters of Kamigami no Asobi.

Appearance

Thoth is a tall man with white hair. He wears an open dark grey shirt with grey pants and snakeskin boots, with a blue school coat over it. He tends to wear blue, green and gold Egyptian accessories. He wears a monocle.

In his deity form he wears Ancient Egyptian garb, and bird wings grow out of his back, since he is traditionally an Ibis-headed god.

Personality

God of wisdom and creation and responsible for the awaking of the world. He is the type of guy who exerts a lot of pressure on his students. He loves corn to the point of having it everyday for 3 meals and spends most of his time in the library. Thoth has the ability to speed read and devour as much information from the books that he has read. He is responsible for leadership and is a tutor in the school. Very proud and confident, he does not take consultations if he is not in the mood. Since he knows everything in the universe, he cannot be debated with. He seems very interested about the aspect of humanity and quizzes Yui about the meaning of these questions.  Though he is interested in humanity, he is somewhat repulsed by their weakness and inability to move from their vanities, which makes him unapproachable by conventional means.

• He doesn’t have the need for a limiter, but it is said to be the snake motif on his necklace.
• His gem is Lapis Lazuli.
• He is the only one that can understand Anubis Ma'at.
• He's known to be very picky with his food, usually eating only corn, but he would eat things like red bean soup if it is available. In the drama cd, he is seen to be enjoying popcorn too.
• His surname, Caduceus, is taken from the symbol of Thoth's staff. Interestingly, it is also associated with the greek god Hermes, where Thoth and Hermes were thought to be the same person by the Egyptians and Greeks.
